yesterday (September 14, 2006) of Bob Hartmann, a 16 year veteran telecommunicator

of the Guttenberg Police Department.

Robert Leonard Hartmann, age 61, of Guttenberg, IA, died Thursday, September 14, 2006, at his home of a sudden illness. He was born the son of Leonard and Editha (Fest) Hartmann, December 16, 1944, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Bob graduated from the St. Mary's Catholic School in 1963; owned and operated the River Valley Communication for 25 years; drove ambulance; and was full time Guttenberg City Dispatcher.

On May 16, 1967, he was united in marriage with Frances Thomas at St. Joseph's Church in Farley.

Survivors include his wife, Fran, two brothers, John (Carol) Hartmann of Guttenberg and Paul (Laurie) Hartmann of Newport News, Virginia; two nieces; two nephews; two great-nieces; four great-nephews; one uncle, Forrestt Miller of New York; his favorite cat TwoWay; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and aunt, Elizabeth Hartmann Miller.

Arrangements are being handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 207 S. 1st, Guttenberg, IA, where the family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, September 19, 2006. Funeral service will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Guttenberg, IA at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 20, 2006. Rev. Marvin Bries will be officiating.
