A group of telecommunicators are working to promote a 9-1-1 dispatcher license plate.  They need to have 500 people commit to purchase within a year before the DOT will go ahead.

The design was created by a group from several counties and the artwork is that of Green County telecommunicator Mindy Durlam.  Congrats to the committee for their enthusiasm and great efforts, and to Mindy for her artwork!

If you area interested in this project, there are two contacts:

For everyone north of Highway 30, contact Lorri McClintock at the Calhoun County SO - S131.  phonecop@iowatelecom.net

For everyone south of Highway 30, contact Sue Candady at Denison PD - S241.  suzieq38@aol.com

Please pass this forward to everyone in your departments. 500 is a lot of people, and it would be great for our emergency communications community to see this become a reality.

There are 1200 dispatchers in Iowa.  The cost would be $25 like personalized plates.  They would like to have a number of people interested by the October 21st.
