TELECOMMUNICATOR OF THE YEAR
TEAM TELECOMMUNICATORS OF THE YEAR
The Iowa Chapter of APCO is accepting nominations for the Telecommunicator of the Year Award. One award will be presented for a single Telecommunicator, and another for a team of Telecommunicators.
The nominee(s) must have been employed as a Telecommunicator for a public safety agency at any time between March 1, 2006 & March 2, 2007. Nominees do not need to be members of APCO.
The nominating person needs to provide written information about the nominee relating to various criteria of job performance and other attributes.
Criteria suggestions for nominations:
1. A positive attitude toward all aspects of the job.
2. A willingness to participate as a team player.
3. Flexibility in task assignments and capabilities.
4. Professionalism and pride in personal appearance, quality of workplace appearance and other factors that merit enhanced respect and esteem of co-workers, supervisors and others.
5. Actions which reflect service about and beyond the call of duty in a daily routine.
6. Knowledge of their profession.
7. Held in high admiration by colleagues.
8. Acts of valuable communications services, special faithfulness, and perseverance.
9. Commendable handling and control during an emergency situation.
Does your agency have a good story to tell; a good call that needs to be commended? Does your agency have specialists that have gone the extra mile serving the public, officers, deputies, troopers, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, administration, co-workers and or other agencies? It’s a significant accomplishment to be the recipient of this award and I encourage every agency to make a nomination.
The awards will be presented the evening of March 27th, 2007
