The Telecommunicator of the Year
Committee members had a tough decision to make with 11 SINGLE
nominations and 7 TEAM nominations. As far as the committee was
concerned – all the nominees were worthy of this award! Many
Sheriffs, Chief Deputies, Captains, Supervisors, and Co-workers sent
in their nominations praising the hard work, dedication and expertise
for the job their employees, friends and co-workers do everyday.

This year the SINGLE AWARD
winner is 20 year old Christina Saeugling who has been
an employee of Guttenberg PD since September 16, 2004. Christina’s
nomination letter told of her working at dispatch 0700-1500 during
RAGBRAI. By 0900 Christina was fielding numerous phone calls on 911
and wireless 911 of a bus that had lost its brakes on a large hill
that is one of the main routes taken into Guttenberg – County Road
C7X. The bus lost it’s brakes on the hill, passed a long string of
cars in the wrong lane, crossed the intersection of Hwy 52 and C7X,
jumped the curb, hit the railroad tracks on the other side of Hwy 52
and burst into flames. Christina had over two hours of pandemonium
and did a fabulous job! She was nominated by Chief George Morteo.
This years TEAM AWARD winner
was MUSCOM 911 Communications. MUSCOM was nominated 2
times – once by their Communications Manager, Joe McCarville for their
dedication during the trials and tribulations with the merge of PD and
SO and for volunteering their time to help out at Louisa County and
doing so with no regard for pay. Their second nomination came from
Louisa County as MUSCOM employees volunteered their time to staff
their agency during their time of need. It took all of MUSCOM
employees to make this happen as they had to staff two agencies at the
same time.
Congratulations to all the nominees
and the AWARD winners for your hard work and devotion to your
profession your dedication does not go un-noticed.
