APCO Conference Call
May 23rd, 2006 3:30 P.M.
In attendance: Judy Flores, Cara Sorrells, Bob Seivert, Dave Murray, Wendi Hess, Kirk Litynski, Sandy Morris, Diana Borash, and Eric Nevins. Conference call began at 3:35 P.M.
The only item on the agenda was the Regional conference. An email dated 05/19/06 Judy received from APCO International advised that they had investigated her request for information and could not locate any letter of intent on behalf of the Iowa Chapter regarding the location or coordination of the 2007 North Central Regional Conference. In addition, they learned that no meeting was held addressing future regional conferences due to the fact that there was not a quorum.
More information was needed before
the executive board could make a decision about hosting the conference. Diana
Borash volunteered to look into hotel availability in the
Bob Seivert made a motion to pursue the conference tentatively to receive cost estimates and to have Diana Borash as acting conference chair. The board would need to have a tentative budget back in 1 week – 10 days to get back to International with a decision. Kirk Litynski thought he could bring in approximately 70 vendors. Dave Murray volunteered to help Kirk with vendors.
Eric Nevins seconded Seivert’s motion. All in favor, motion carried.
Next conference call was scheduled for Wednesday May 31st,2006 at 3:30 P.M. It was requested that Diana email her preliminary budget findings be emailed prior to the meeting for discussion.
Motion to adjourn by Bob Seivert, with a second by Wendi Hess. Adjourned at 4:05 P.M.
