APCO Conference Call

May 31^st, 2006 3:30 hrs

In attendance: Dave Murray, Cindy Forgy, Judy Flores, Cara Sorrells, Bob Seivert, Eric Nevins,

Wendi Hess, Sandy Morris. Conference call began at 3:30 P.M.

Diana Borash had emailed a preliminary budget projection with a total expense of $43,175 without any speaker or hotel costs included. Eric Nevins felt that figure was short as Iowa APCO spent that amount in ’97. Concerns were manpower, organization, and money needed up front.

Iowa Apco had not received a bill yet for the Spring conference from the hotel. Eric had emailed the figures he received out earlier on in the day for review. The total due was $6,637.94. Bob Seivert made a motion to pay the bill with a second by Wendi Hess. All in favor, motion carried.

The participants on the conference call were apprehensive about having the Regional. No one wanted to take on the project and not have the time and resources to do it right. The executive board felt it would be good to take it to the members at the next conference and get more input as to whether or not the members are interested in hosting a regional conference in the future. Wendi Hess made a motion not to host the Regional in 2007. The motion was seconded by Cindy Forgy. A roll call vote was conducted with the other executive board members also in favor. No opposition. Judy would notify APCO International after the conference call.

Eric Nevins had received one bill for 911 Cares life saver pins for $51 from the Telecommunicator of the Year ceremony. They had donated 30 but Teresa Todd was 9 pins short for the ribbons she made for all the nominees. Motion to pay by Bob Seivert, seconded by Eric Nevins. Motion carried, no opposition. Meeting was adjourned at 4:10 P.M.

Next meeting set for June 6^th, 2006 at 9:30 A.M. at the Bonanza restaurant in Fort Dodge with all the committee chairs. They are requested to bring their goals, objectives, and a list of the committee members.
