Silent Key Tribute to Teresa Dausel

Teresa Dausel started working for Ida County Sheriff on 5-13-88 (parttime),
until 10-15-90 when she went full time. Her last day with Ida County was
03-14-97.
She started working for Monona County Sheriff on 01-27-97 and loved working
the night shift.
She did the UCR's , among her other duties. She always brought in many snacks ( home baking ) for the night crew [Deputies, PD Officers, Jailers, and any other officers that came through].

BATTLE CREEK, Iowa -- Teresa Marie Dausel, 35, of Battle Creek died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at Methodist Health System in Omaha, Neb.

Services were held Monday May 17, 2004 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Battle Creek, with the Rev. Rod Dunker officiating.

Born Nov, 19, 1968 in Battle Creek, Iowa, Teresa Marie Dausel was the daughter of Douglas and Paula (Schwanz) Dausel. She was baptized on Dec. 8, 1968 at St. Paul Lutheran Church/Midway and was later confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Battle Creek. She graduated from Battle Creek High School in 1987. During her high school career, Teresa worked as a dietary aide at Willow Dale Care Center in Battle Creek. Following graduation, she attended the Spencer School of Business. Teresa worked various jobs until she found her calling as a communications operator with the Ida County Sheriff's office. She advanced to communications supervisor before transferring to Monona County, where she was currently employed.

Teresa was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Battle Creek and the Battle Creek Ambulance Service. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed golfing, baking, fishing and spending time with her nieces and nephews. Teresa will be remembered for her kind and caring nature, always willing to help others in any way.

Survivors include her parents, Douglas and Paula Dausel of Battle Creek; a brother and his wife, Darin and Sharon Dausel of Carroll, Iowa and their children, Morgan, Zane and Kylee; a sister, Jessica Dausel of Council Bluffs, Iowa and her son, Dominic; her paternal grandmother, Elaine Dausel of Battle Creek; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schwanz of Denison; two special children Teresa helped raise, Dara Jean and Davin Mefferd of Battle Creek; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother, John Paul Dausel in 1993; her paternal grandfather, Harlen Dausel; paternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Viggo Dausel and Mr. and Mrs. Dietrich Albers; and maternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Dose and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Schwanz and Bessie Schwanz.
